for my summer learning journey I am making spider webs we have to draw it on paper. I added details like spiders and butterfly’s. one of the spider webs is one full and on quarter.
One night l was lying in bed. Then suddenly a light lit up with a giant noise. I looked outside and saw fireworks so I decided to make a wish even though I knew that it would never come true. After that i thought to myself will it really come true. The wish was that a mystery light up present will pop up on the ground. I knew it was crazy but it was worth a try. I closed my eyes and opened them. Nothing was there I knew wouldn’t come true. The next day i went to school, did the usual work then went on the bus on the way home. Once I got home I made dinner and laid down. It was still bright but I decided to go to bed early. I slowly opened the door and there it was the present that I wished for. I kept confusing myself going back and forth thinking to myself did mum and dad hear my wish did it come true or am I dreaming. I made up my mind I was sure I was dreaming so I got my sister to pinch me. Ouch not that hard. There was only one thing left to do. I had to open it. Suddenly I was terrified. What if something bad happens? What if something will pop out and attack me? NO i’m sure nothing bad will happen. I slowly opened it but as I leaned to touch it it started lighting up with blue and sharp strokes of lightning coming out of it. Coming closer to open it the lid popped off. It was a cute little glowing puppy with his giant and cute eyes and his little tongue poking out of his mouth. How cute. Wait, now I have to convince my dad and mum that I can take care of this puppy. I don’t think they will mind. I can just hide this puppy inside

Hello my name is Gene and for our inquiry topic this term we are learning about music. Since this term is ‘Let the music play’ we have been making music pieces. In our music we have chosen music to have different cultures that we are not familiar with and make music that is supposed to sound like those cultures. I chose Spain.
In our task you might be wondering why we have to do this. We are doing the same thing for creative space. Since our focus for this term is ‘Let the music play’ we are creating our music based on the theme. I found it difficult to find the right instruments so we had to make ideas or find things that are similar to what we think our music sounds like. I could find instruments like the acoustic guitar and the accordion but the instruments I could not find were castanets, the cajon or the congas. I had to either replace or use something else.
What I found easy was finding instruments that could match together. To do this I chose two different options of musical loops in Garage band and I had to see which ones sounded good together. When I found those two music types I layered them on top of each other to make the piece of music sound different. I arranged them to sound like music from the culture I chose, which was Spain.
In this task I found things both fun and challenging. Something that I had to decide was what music types or genres I wanted them to sound like. You can listen to my music at the top of the blog post.

Also Spain’s national anthem, called the “Marcha Real” (The Royal March), is one of the very few anthems in the world that does not have any official lyrics. Finally, in spain there are different music types because of how many different regions there are in Spain.
i would maybe try this with a different culture depending on if i can do Tongan or Maori. I couldn’t do it for this one because we had to do music that we are not familiar with.
